Final 1.9 Pre-Release available.

Jeb has circulated what they are calling the "Final Pre-Release" of the upcoming 1.9 patch. You can download this patch HERE.

With the release of 1.9 coming soon, they are promising to do a "Code Freeze" on October the 11th. Which thankfully will give server providers like us a breath of air so we can catch up our plugins and finally get a set up we know will be sticking around for at least a month.

Are you going to play hardcore?

Minecraft 1.9 Pre-Release coming soon!

Notch has recently tweeted that he plans to release a pre-release of the 1.9 patch sometime in the week to ensure enough people can test it to catch as many remaining bugs as possible. There is no telling how long it's going to take server and mod communities to catch up to these changes. I can only speak for us here at Exiled, but we can't wait until all of these updates get done so we can get back to normal business.

Jeb has also tweeted a sneak peak of the new inventory system, you can see some bottles in the inventory hinting at some possible potions. He also hinted that none of these stats would be functional in the 1.9 release. With all the recent changes to game play many people are reporting it's like playing a completely different game. Let us know how you feel about this article on our forums HERE.

We Are Now Updated to Minecraft 1.8

Yesterday at approximately 7:00 PM EST, I update the server to Minecraft 1.8 and CB1185. I'm sure you guys have all been just itching to play on the server with 1.8. I've been busy grabbing all of the updated plugins and testing some of the older ones for compatibility. Some plugins have been released for the latest version, some have not been updated but are still compatible, some are not compatible, and some plugins have been removed in favor of similar ones. Do not be alarmed if you find any bugs here and there, just calmy report them to me via PM with the date, time, what you were doing, etc.

Since 1.8 has drastically changed the game architecture, we will not be keeping our current map. We will move to a new map, and we will, upon request, copy some (but not all) of your buildings to the new map (read this post about copying).

While we are copying your stuff over, flushing out bugs, refining the gameplay, and preparing for the release of Minecraft 1.9, we will be on a TEMPORARY MAP. Anything you build on this TEMPORARY MAP will be lost once we go to our new permanent map, so don't get too carried away with your building. I expect us to be on the TEMPORARY MAP for up to two weeks. Happy Minecraft-ing.

Admin Update

As you may have noticed, I've only been on a few times as of late, my Twitter account has hardly been updated and the art work I was supposed to have done for the website is hardly touched. Before I get to my explanation, I'd like to express my sincerest apologies to Knives and the rest of the server.

I enjoy working with all of you and you deserve an admin who's able to be more active, however right now that is something that I cannot commit to. I will be back in action, but it may be a week or two.

Firstly, as a handful of you know, I got a kitten, however I was forced out of ownership for extensive, pointless reasons. You don't need details, just know that I am NOT a happy camper.

Secondly, I've taken on multiple charity projects that include hours of study, work and effort in order to get the outcome that is desired. This takes up a large chunk of my day as it involves me actually going out to local businesses and participating in meetings.

And thirdly, I have started my own business and am busy building it from the ground up and getting it up and running. This also takes multiple hours of time and effort speaking with the town's CoE and dealing with tax information and local laws.

Lastly, I've enrolled in multiple school courses including classes for graphic design, general credits and a specialized cartoon and 3D model class.

I will leave it up to Knives to decide whether I remain as an Admin or not, but know that I still have a care and love for the server and will be back in action as soon as time allows me.

Thank you all, and congrats to G3y3r, he deserves the position.

Domain is down, server is fine.

Just a quick announcement, our domain appears to be Mal-functioning, if we can't resolve the problem in an orderly manner we'll simply be switching domain providers.

Server is running fine, despite the banner at the top of page saying it's not, it's linked to our domain address.

Sorry for the mishap.

Management.

Congratulations G3y3r!

Effective Immediately G3y3r has been promoted to server admin. The server managers would like to thank him for all of his hard work and dedication to our server, and look forward to working with him in more depth in the future. I would also like to extend our thanks to all the other moderators both new and old who have spent much time on our server. Without you guys there wouldn't be a server. We're more thankful then you can possibly imagine.

Management.

Mod your minecraft game menu!

Found an interesting video on youtube that teaches you to customize your minecraft menu background on 1.8. For those of you looking to diverse your menu the instructions are fairly simple to follow.

1.8 released, do not update!

Folks, it looks like Notch decided to go ahead and release Minecraft 1.8.  While we know this is an exciting time as the game hasn't had this degree of an overhaul in a long time we must ask you not to upgrade to 1.8 if you intend to play on our server.

If you accidentally upgrade to 1.8 see Michael Lee's post HERE to roll yourself back to 1.7.3

The reason why we're not moving the server forward with 1.8 right away is because the creators of all of our vital plugins need time to update their software to match the 1.8 architecture. This takes a few days as they have to make the modifications, upload them, them we have to download and install them. This includes bukkit which also will have to update to support the new version of minecraft.

On top of that, Notch has a nasty habit of doing hotfixes one or two days after his release of an update. So we're expecting 1.8.1 in a time frame of a few hours to a few days. Each time he does this plugin developers have to update their software again. Which is why many of them simply wait for notch to get all of this done before they even begin updating their plugins.

In a worse case scenario we should be running on 1.8 here in a week tops. It's never taken longer then 5 or so days for us to have everything securely moved to the new version.

We will be generating a new map seed, and we will be copying/pasting over all the essential stuff to ensure that all the new goodies will generate with the map terrain. (mineshafts etc etc) While spawn and the spawn city will remain unchanged, you can expect the terrain of the map to be completely different once you leave the area.

Thanks for understanding,
MasterKnives

Nyan Cat.

I fondly remember logging in one day to the server to find out that one of our server admins copied and pasted a giant nyan cat at spawn. Now, granted I was angry enough that my spawn was getting wrecked by this weird looking pop-tart cat, but I had no idea what it was until Michael_Lee showed me the horror.

Here is my official response.

1.8 changes.

Here is a list of changes coming to 1.8. This list is compiled from a list made by people playing the leaked early copy of 1.8. Stay tuned for more updates on minecraft as we wait to see how catastrophic the release will be.

Taken from http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/611563-18-updates-features-from-the-pre-release/

- Biomes are MUCH larger and uniform than before

-Swamp biome was added to the list of existing biomes - look for vines on trees!

- Vines
Can be collected with shears, in the manner of leaf blocks. Vines will grow on any surface they are placed on

- Beef and Chicken added

- Strongholds - spawn once per world

- Ruins (basically strongholds on the ground)

- Giant mushrooms (Do not generate yet)

- Silverfish

- Creative mode
Allows flying, insta-break, unlimited items from an item palette, no damage, and more

- Abandoned mine shafts

- Endermen
Normally passive, these night-spawning mobs will teleport to (and attack) you if you look directly at them. When defeated, they can drop Ender Pearls, which presently do nothing

- Bow charging
Variable damage with charge, can also land critical hits. Additionally, attacks can crit if you hit a player or mob when descending from a jump

- Sprinting
Run faster, knock mobs back that are hit during a sprint - appears to deplete the hunger bar faster

- New high-quality Main Menu

- Chest animation (lids open, close)

- Player list on SMP; Server listings

- Setting gamemode on SMP "/gamemode username 0/1", 1 being Creative and 0 being Survival

- Hunger
Depletes slowly over time, can be filled by eating food. At 9 more more bars, you will regenerate health slowly.

- Eating animation

- Arrows stick to mobs

- Xp bar (Gain xp from killing mobs and other players)

- New lighting engine (Colored lights, smoother lighting)

- Clouds are now at the ceiling of the world

- Cave spiders

- Zombies drop rotten flesh, which can be consumed

- Watermelons (as well as watermelon and pumpkin seeds)

- Glass panes

These can be crafted at a crafting table by making a 3x2 grid of Glass Blocks - makes 16 panes. These panes can be placed in lines, corners and crosses, and they will adjoin with the nearest adjacent block.

- Iron Bars
Created by making a 3x2 grid of iron ingots at a crafting table. Can be placed in the same manner as glass panes

- Brick, Stone Brick stairs

- Smooth stone brick
Can be crafted by placing Stone in a 2x2 grid, makes 4 Stone Bricks

- F6 & F7 Adjust the time of day when pressed/held

Busy day today!

Today was a busy day, so I decided to finally get around and host a few more events. I'm pleased everybody enjoyed them.

Jasonrox won both Mortal Kombat tournaments. Netting him 400 dollars.
Ipitouchy was the winner in our foot racing held after, winning another 400 after completing the 5 lap endurance race held at the end.

I'd like to thank you folks for your continued support and LOYALTY.

The Pumpkin King is Set to Rise!

Get your best costumes on, ladies and gentlemen, because Halloween is right around the corner. In a month's time, you'll be able to walk through Exiled Gaming's own Halloween Town, replicated after the amazing movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

If you've never seen it, you're a terrible human being and need to get right the fuck out and buy the VHS.

Remember those? Yeah, get one.

Races, spooks, haunts, and grisly finds in the graveyard, do you dare step foot onto the Pumpkin King's turf? Will you make it out alive?

Who knows, with Knives as the Pumpkin King himself, you may cease to exist all together.
The whole month of October will be packed with Halloween related events and contests, along with eternal night, and trick or treating the night before the ghosts come out to play.

So ready up, kiddies, or Oogie Boogie might just get you before the Pumpkin King can.

Wow an exciting Mortal Kombat Tournament

Haypalm102 and TechRockstar battled to the death in todays Mortal Kombat Tournament.

TechRockstar this being his first day on the server beat Froyboy another newcomer and veteran 220racer to advance.

Haypalm102 beat headmod G3y3r and Cameronrodman to advance.

TechRockstar won the tournament and tripled his money with his knockoff victory.

Mortal Kombat has returned!

That's right folks, I finally got around to building the thing. I'll start hosting some fighting competitions in the next few days so we can continue the asskicking we did on the old map. Stay tuned.

A new Voice and hopefully a new start for Exiled Gaming

Hi fellow Exiled Gaming members.
I have been asked to contribute stories, pictures and list events for the server, I hope that I do an excellent job and continue the good work that MasterKnives, Michael_Lee, and AydiaFaith have in the past.
If anyone would like to host a game, or another idea let me know. If you have an idea and lack the materials or funding for such event I would be more than happy to assist you.
If there are pictures from the server you would like to share message me in game and I'll post them.
This website is about all of you so you all have a voice in it

Thank you again for this honor

Exiled Gaming: Updates and Competitions

It's been a while since the last post, mainly since the person responsible for the posting has fallen off the face of the earth. But luckily, I managed to climb my way back up and here I am.

Unfortunately.

In any case, we have a few things to tell you all. First off, Sukiel, another Admin of the Dead, has returned to us. I now have a ghostly friend to haunt the graveyard with, brilliant.

Next, there will be a recruitment drive incoming. So expect a mega-load of people. The Admins will personally be dealing with this, along with some help from you, the players. Yes, that's right, you guys. And how, you might ask? Well, we're going to be holding a competition.

The first person, staff or player, to bump our thread on the Minecraft forums 100 times will receive a FULL diamond weapon/tool set. Remember to place a number in your post, starting with 1, and of course, ending with 100. We don't want to have to count your posts.

Next order of business, is the Featured Building of the Week. If I can't get a hold of you in-game to talk to you about your dirt house, I'll make up some random shit in the post. Like it was created by shitting unicorns and rainbows out of your nose whilst inhaling corn pops for breakfast. Just a heads up, so watch out for those weekly unicorn shitting posts.

For now, that is all. Enjoy this picture of a random puddle.

Until next time,
Aydia Faith
