A new Era.

As many you already know, we have been hard at work on Lee's test server building a new map and server design set up. And after a lot of tinkering and some heavy construction we are pleased to announce a new system for which we will be conducting ourselves this day forth on the server.

Changes to the server will seem a little harsh, especially compared to what we have been doing the past year for the most part, however the core game is very much the same.

Towns
Towns are now automatically managed with a plugin called Towny. Towns now cost money every 24 hours to keep, which means that when inactive players leave their towns behind, after their accounts run out the town will be automatically unprotected and free for all players to recycle. This effectively ends massive stretches of land owned by players who haven't played here for months. Which means new players won't have to walk 2 thousand miles to find unprotected land.

Moderators will no longer be doing land protections for players as a result of this. Towny takes care of our protection needs. (However fancy builds may still be protected by moderators. For the sake of having nice things on the server.)

Economy
The economy is having a huge change over. No longer will you generate an amount of money every 5 minutes, instead we have set up a store right at the spawn where you can go buy and sell materials. The store mainly buys things in stacks of 64 though. Players can now go farm, and mine materials and bring to the shop at spawn to sell. Of course players can still trade things with each other, and you'll make more money doing that. But the shop is there as a guaranteed way for you to make some money. Take note of the signs we have placed at the new shops, they explain how the commands work. I'll update the documentation on the player commands page with these commands as well down the road.

PVP
Can now be toggled by the mayors of the town, this means if you don't want pvp in your settlement you can disable it. PVP IS STILL ALWAYS ON IN THE WILDERNESS. So tread lightly when you walk away from towns. And of course PVP IS DISABLED IN ARCADIA.

I will be giving some people some money so they can start a few towns right away, after that the economy will be completely up to the players. We will also be offering stargates to towns as usual, but the prices will be different based on the economy. Also be prepared for economy tweaks as time goes on so we can get it where we want it to be.

The map does have a border installed, I think the same as the old map, but finding land should and will never be an issue again.

The plan is to have this change done TONIGHT. We'll be classifying the server back into a development phase while we iron out the bugs and do our best to ensure stability and fairness.
